Mom's Hats and New Lion!

This Lion is my very favorite of all the ones you have made yet!  I love the
colors you chose for him.   and the stitchery on his face is perfect!
Good Job Mom

Ok,  ok,,ok.  If you keep making hats as cute as these you are never going to
get off hat detail!

Lilly

Here she is.... I've named her Lilly

baby face

It's a baby!

It's got no arms, legs or hair yet but finally after all the sore fingers
and the many, many eyes I have sewn...... I finally figured out how
to make a little babies face. YIPPPPPEEEEEEE
this is the first face I have done that I was not nervous and intimidated while sewing it on!
I had to share with you all.
this is a huge milestone at my work bench!

Definately a baby face! Great job!!!! and the monkeys..... the animals are taking over!! Ruth

Beautiful face, Peg. The proportions are perfect. Good job. I think you've mastered it. Linda

We have Breanna

Well here she is...... I am calling her Breanna.

I have not sewn down her hair yet.  I am not sure how I want it to lay yet.
The hair has been *hot curled* and is pretty stiff.
I think some more experimentation is in order.
but I can only work on her in the day light.
{It is sure awful to be old!}
But I think she will be very pretty when completed.

Sillyness today!

The monkeys have come to my house too.... but they are kind of funny looking!

I love this monkey...... i wish he was setting on the back of my couch right now!   He is obnoxiously cute!

undies

Ok .... I have been on the undies detail.....LOL
this is too fun.... I drew on the fabric with fabric pens and then cut out the pieces.
I signed up for a doll challenge on the CDA (cloth doll artistry) site.
the challenge is to make a doll with a boo-boo.
So our doll is gonna have a sprained wrist!
This here is just fun stuff!

HAPPY PANTS!!! Ruth

Gretel Clothes

I'm thinking maybe this hat might be better for Gretel. We'll see.

Did you try the scarf on with the hat?

I think these shoes you made Peggy would look better on Gretel. Do you have more of this felted wool? I wonder if we could make a pair of boots for Hansel. What do you think?

I still have the slippers and they were made out of the same needle felt I sent to you.

I see you have been using your crop o dial.......... that makes me happy. they can do so much!

the trim you chose for around the bottom of her skirt is perfect. Just enough (maybe some tassels of the same color threads on her sox.)

You need me to send you some felt? I can get 1/4 - 1/2 yard of each color and send to you.
Is it possible to embroider a small flower on the corners of her scarf.
What about red laces in her shoes and her vest? what do you think of that. with a very small embriodered red flower on the corners of her scarf. *just some ideas* I think it needs a little splash of red {not much}
what do you think?
Really if you choose to leave it as is........ I do like it this way too.
Love you today, peglee

Thought I would show you how I spin fibers to make yarn. This is some yak and merino wool blend that I have been working on for some time. I have 7 bats of it now ready to spin. So far I have finished 1 bat and got 7 skeins of yarn. Anybody want a pair of yak socks??? Linda

whew whoooooo..... I do I do........... I love yuk {no yak} socks! Way cool Linda. It was just not long enough for me. I could have watched another 10 minutes anyway!
Keep up the good work. You are awesome!

ME, ME, ME!!! My feet still peddle backward when I watch you do this Linda! Love this... would love to see more! Ruth

hansel clothes

Now this is a handsome little guy! Ruth you are so talented. He sure looks like he comes from the story book. Yipeee. Good Job sis. so fun! I am loving it!

Rita

Here's Rita.  She is the sister to Molly and Polly

This guy has a wire frame, this means his neck and legs will never get all floppy!
Pretty cool.

This is the biggest ruler I have.  It only goes to 13"

Looks like he is thinkin  *huh? whadya say?*

just trying to show the detail of the rump

I painted inside his ears.

It must be awful hard to set down when you gotta balance that neck.

whew ....... made it.
I used premium cream colored felt and then painted him after he was all together.
I could not find any felt that had giraffe print on it.
Do you think I should paint his feet?

Polly

Polly got the eyelashes.........While poor little Molly got none......

It appears they like each other anyway......
It's amazing  what a few strands of embriodery floss can do.
Same pattern. Same doll maker. Same supplies.
Totally different results.

Molly

Today I spent time with Molly.
Pretty quiet day..... she doesn't talk much......but she has a very gentle spirit.....

I love her! Did you make her? Ruth

Elleia is dressed!

A little Samoan doll needs sandals so here they are!

Now she is all dressed and ready to go!

Thanks Linda for this fabric. It is perfect!
Michael if you are looking let us know if this will work. Love you Brother!!!

Ruth, this is so cute. The fabric worked up great and I love the sandals. Hope you like it Mike! Ruth, when you are out and about keep your eyes open for pink and dark green separating zippers. I need one of each color, doesn't matter how long to go in the front of sweater vests I've made, but I can't find zippers for them. We only have one store in town that sells sewing notions so the selection is pretty picked over. Thanks. Love y'all. Linda

I have a funny kind of outlet fabric store here that seems to have alot of that kind of stuff. I will check Monday and let you know.
Ruth

new photos

Shhhhhhh..... i don't think he sees us.

ooops..... we have to be quiet

uh oh..... I think he has seen us

Yep too late........ he knows we are here.....
RUN!!!!!!!

HA!!!! HA!!! This is so fun! How tall is this guy? Love ya Ruth
He stands a lanky 13" from hoof to ear tip!
I know he sounds small but when riled up he is a force to be reckoned with.......
LOL
