The circus is coming to town

came home today with a bad back and found the circus was at my house!

Just some clothes

I had these leggings and wanted to make something to go with them to have a complete outfit so we added a red turtleneck and blue skirt.

Probably needs a belt, and still some shoes.... but this is good for today.
ok, I tried to post this on the clothing page and it still posted on the home page.
You'll have to teach me how to do that. Ruth

Leisel Clothes

.

Under-dress and embroidery on the cute Jumper Linda made. I don't have the hat, as it is at mom's. It's ok for today. I think I figured out how to make boots that lace up which would be very cute on boy dolls. I let you know when I get them made.

Ruth, I love it. The embroidery really sets it off. Is it white or off-white? I think the purse for this should be whatever color the embroidery is. What do you think?? Linda

It's off white: a very light cream. I think it needs a purse and the hat that mom has. Ruth

we have a unicorn

took awhile to figure out how to put on the horn........ duh....... wool and needle felt! LOL so fun

Everything about him is perfect. Beautiful ! Alyce

Love him!!!!! or her!!! whichever! Ruth

Peg, it's perfect. How much do you want for it? I've got to have one of these for Elena. Linda

LOLLY

It's LOLLY...... she has all yarn hair..... it is sewn onto her head in three sections... It is longer than I had originally planned....... but I know there will  ALWAYS be *little girls with scissors practicing beauty school*
                                                                               LOL
Another day ...............................................................................................................Another doll

Oh, she's as cute as can be!   And did Ruth sew the shirt and skirt?   I love her hair.  She is perfect.  Is her body stuffed with wool?

I can't wait to get together and try making my very own.  BTW - is she made out of the same new Weir fabric?  Alyce

Her outfit is one I purchased before christmas but I thought she would look cute in it.  she is stuffed with polyfill.  I am finally getting low on  wool.
she is covered with the fabric from weir but is a little different shade.  I think she is cut too.
BTW  morning sis, how are you feeling?

Her outfit makes her look like a real little girl, standing up so straight!  LOL Alyce

Handmade hanger.

Isn't this the easiest and best idea to hang up doll clothes!
A person could set and make these while watching a movie.....
Like no brainer stuff!

I thought I would include a picture of our doll pattern and what our kids look
like before they are assembled.
To assemble I use 4 ply thread and insert buttons into the tops of the limbs. then run the thread threw the button and then the skin of the limb - then through the doll body and out the other side - then through the skin of the other limb into the button. then I double back through the button and the skin - back through the body and into the limb and button where I started.  Take the needle off and then tie a knot very snuggly in the 4 ply thread and then tuck the thread down into the limb cavity.
finish stuffing and then sew up the limbs.
there's a short tutorial for you.  I hope the assembly process made sense.

ta da..... assembly complete

Linda Spinning the Yak

Yak!
No. not Yuk,
Yak!!

Wow. Linda! I'd like to see that up close, wonder when I'll next get to Washington. Amazing. Did you teach yourself how to spin? Wow. I'm really glad you posted these photos. Very nice. (Alyce)

I was wondering when you were gonna get around to the Yak...... I it looks like it is spinning up pretty well. Are the thick and thin spots giving you fits?
Looks like it must be cold at your house too. (got lots o sweaters on) LOL
I finished the Elleia doll this evening and she is off to the designer tomorrow. Peggy

YEA! I wish I was there to watch, I think of when I tried spinning and I just kept peddling forward then backward..... AAAGH! Nice to see the master at work. You are a great example Linda! Ruth

I wouldn't exactly say I'm a master but I am getting better. The fiber is VERY soft and pulls apart really easily. Definitely not a beginning project. I spun for about 2 hours last night and only got about 1/3 of one bat done. I have 7 bats. It's going to take awhile. In answer to your question, Alyce, I watched a video and then spent a couple hours with a lady who knows how to spin and the rest is all practice. I am hoping someday to be able to make yarn that is perfectly straight and not bumpy and knobby. I'll keep you posted. Linda

I recommend making a video of the process and posting it on this blog and the website.   With the proper wording it would be a huge draw on Google search.   Alyce

more Dad and Mom

Totally a biker gang!    Kinda small gang though!

The driving force behind all this..... Dad's Smile! The best! Have a wonderful day! Ruth

I haven't ever seen this photo!!! I LOVE it!   Oh, it almost makes me cry, I miss him so so much!
Makes me want to be a better person for when I see him again!   Look how tiny he is.   Wow, is this from Rangely?   And who is that behind him, Grandma Rowley?   Do you know?   Thanks for posting it,  What a nice suprise to wake up to.   Oh, Dad! yes, it did it, now I'm crying - Alyce
Will you email it to me please?
